Aims and Scope: Al-Qadisiyah Journal of Veterinary Medicine Sciences (ISSN 1818-5746 Print, ISSN 2313-4429 Online) is a Bi-Annual scientific peer review journal issued by College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Al-Qadisiyah, deal with publishing of original scientific research, research reviews, case reports, research notes, short essay, symposium proceedings, summaries of presentations, letters to the editor, related to the various veterinary and livestock sciences and biological sciences that are not published or submitted for publication elsewhere. It published in the English language as the open access online, in addition to a print version.

Open Access: Al-Qadisiyah Journal of Veterinary Medicine Sciences is an open access peer-reviewed journal and any researchers can read and downloads any paper without restriction and without paying any fee. Each article accepted by peer review is made freely available online immediately upon publication.

Peer Review Policy: Following a preliminary assessment and plagiarism checking, papers are sent for peer review by the Secretary-Editor. The journal’s policy is to have manuscripts reviewed by three expert reviewers, utilizing a double-blind peer review process in which the identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. All manuscripts are reviewed as rapidly as possible while maintaining rigor. Reviewers make comments to the author and recommendations to the Editor who then makes the final decision. After peer review and final corrections by the author according to reviewers recommendations, the paper may be accepted, revisions requested, or rejected; this decision is taken by the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Consultant Editors when required. The Editor or members of the Editorial Board may occasionally submit their own manuscripts for possible publication in the journal. In these cases, the peer review process will be managed by alternate members of the Board and the submitting Editor / Board member will have no involvement in the decision-making process. Every article receives a detailed technical edit by a staff of specialist editors after peer review and ahead of publication. The journal staff has the rights to make technical and scientific changes and modifications on the manuscripts according to the style of the journal and has the right to refuse publication of the manuscripts at any stage of publication in due any reason regarding misconduct to the journal and its reputation and scientific contents.

Publishing Fees: Al-Qadisiyah Journal of Veterinary Medicine Sciences is a self-supporting journal and does not receive funding from any private or government institution/ organization. The journal is solely financed by the fees received from the authors. The publication processing fees for the national author is relating to the scientific academic ranks; (100) thousand Iraqi Dinar (ID) for the Prof., (75) thousand (ID) for Asst. Prof., Lecturer, and Asst. Lecturer (It is obtained according to the higher academic rank among authors), and (100$) for a Foreign author in exception to the academic ranks. The fees should cover the cost of plagiarism checking, reviewers, and publication charge. A fee is taking in two stages; Part one (Article Submission Charges) when submission of the manuscripts (50% of the fee, and not get back) use to cover plagiarism checking, and reviewers payment. The second part (Article Processing Charges (APCs)) is taking after the paper is accepted for publication. When a paper is accepted for publication the author is issued with an invoice for payment of a publication processing fee.

Plagiarism: Al-Qadisiyah Journal of Veterinary Medicine Sciences take issues of copyright infringement, plagiarism or other breaches of best practice in publication very seriously. Each submitted article is checked with plagiarism checking software at Computer Center and Internet Services-University of Al-Qadisiyah. Any article exceeds the permissible ratio of plagiarism is rejected.
